Gaoling Scenic Area in Jingdezhen is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Gaoling, located in Yaoli Town, Fuliang County, Jingdezhen, is often called "Little Lushan." It is not only known for its well-preserved ancient villages and wild, untamed natural environment, but also as the birthplace of the name of the world-famous ceramic clay "kaolin." It has been approved by the State Council as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, and by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government as a "Jiangxi Provincial Scenic Spot," renowned for its ceramic culture both at home and abroad. In addition, the scenic area features ancient stone pavilions, tailing sand dunes, Huangmei Fort, Wufeng Pavilion, Shamao Stone, ancient settlements, Mituo Pillar, Bao'en Bridge, and Jinyang Longquan Gorge. These sights offer visitors stunning views, an immersive experience in nature’s beauty, and a deeper understanding of ceramic culture. Visiting Gaoling allows one to not only enjoy the magnificent and picturesque natural landscapes but also witness the arduous yet glorious efforts of ancestors who carved roads through mountains and turned earth into treasure. Crossing the imitation ancient stone arch bridge from Dongbu Village in Ehu Town, and walking along the Gaoling Ancient Path paved with bluestone slabs, visitors can see ancient mining pits and tailing sands scattered across the mountainsides from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. They can also climb the perilous Golden Rooster Stone, admire the Juxiu Pavilion nestled by the mountain and overlooking the water, appreciate the Longkou Waterfall that resembles a coiling dragon, and view the thousand-year-old camphor tree that looks like an umbrella—offering an abundance of natural charm.

Yaoli Town: Yaoli is situated at the junction of Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, bordering four counties (Qimen and Xiuning in Anhui, and Wuyuan and Fuliang in Jiangxi), and is 59 kilometers away from downtown Jingdezhen.

Yaoli, originally named Yaoliu (literally "Kiln Village"), was formerly part of Xinzheng District, Jinxiu Township, Fuliang County. As early as the mid-Tang Dynasty, there were handicraft workshops producing ceramics here, and it became known as Yaoliu due to its fame for porcelain kilns. In the early 20th century, Yaoliu was renamed Yaoli three times. On August 24, 1994, it was upgraded from a township to a town, and on April 2, 2001, it was designated as a provincial-level nature reserve.
