Gaoling Village

As the birthplace of ceramic raw materials, "Gaoling" has become synonymous with ceramic raw materials. During the Yuan Dynasty, the emergence of a dual-formula porcelain-making technique combining kaolin and porcelain stone laid a solid foundation for the rapid development of Jingdezhen's porcelain industry in the years to come.

Although Gaoling Village no longer produces kaolin today, due to its significant place in ceramic history and the abundance of ancient relics, the stone inscriptions erected during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era and the Qing Dynasty's Yongzheng era that remain in Gaoling document the prosperous kaolin mining activities of the past. The remnants of Ming and Qing mining pits and tailing piles are still clearly visible, and the mountain continues to attract a considerable number of visitors each year. In addition, the natural scenery of Gaoling Mountain is considered one of the finest in Jingdezhen.
