Fuliang Ancient City is a cultural tourism attraction.

Fuliang Ancient City is located in the suburbs of Jingdezhen, about 8 kilometers from downtown Jingdezhen. Built in the 12th year of the Yuanhe era of the Tang Dynasty (817 AD), it has survived through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties and served as the seat of government for Fuliang County throughout history. The layout of the entire city resembles the Bagua (Eight Trigrams), with city walls stretching over 20 li in total length, standing 1.6 zhang high and about one zhang wide. Historically in Jingdezhen, Fuliang County had jurisdiction over the area. The Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi once lamented, “Traders care more for profit than for parting — just last month they went to Fuliang to buy tea,” which fully reflects the long-standing porcelain and tea culture of Fuliang Ancient City. Historical literati such as Yan Zhenqing, Liu Zongyuan, Wang Anshi, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Fo Yin, Fan Zhongyan, and Yang Wanli were all captivated by the landscapes and culture of Fuliang.

Inside Fuliang Ancient City, there is the only existing ancient county yamen of the fifth rank in China and the Red Pagoda, a Buddhist pagoda from the Song Dynasty; there are also grand ancient city gate towers, a world-unique historical and cultural corridor, a millennium porcelain jar that is under application for a world record, a Millennium Love Square that embodies joy and romance; a serene thousand-year-old ancient well with winding paths; the Kui Xing Pavilion, a premium ceramic museum showcasing ceramic culture; and ongoing constructions such as Baoji Temple and Yun Qin Lake.

Transportation

1. Take Bus Route 16 Branch Line from Jingdezhen Leisure Square to reach the Ancient County Yamen Scenic Area.

2. The scenic area is located in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province, in the northern part of Jingdezhen, the Porcelain Capital. It can be accessed via the Jiujiang–Jingdezhen Expressway exit along the road from Jingdezhen to Fuliang, from Jingdezhen Luojia Airport via Jinqiao Avenue to Fuliang Avenue, or from Wuyuan to Jingdezhen and then transfer to Fuliang Avenue. It is 8 kilometers from downtown Jingdezhen.
