The Meiling Ecological Resort is known for its picturesque rural landscapes. It houses more than 100 well-preserved ancient residences, mostly dating back to the Qing Dynasty, with a few from the Ming Dynasty. The resort also features dozens of distinctive wooden villas with stilted verandas, and bamboo-roofed cabins fastened with raw, simple bamboo strips that ensure warmth in winter and coolness in summer—offering visitors to Meiling a "hidden paradise" to reconnect with nature and unwind.

The ancient village of Meiling, also known as “Hometown of the Plum Blossom Garden,” boasts a network of crisscrossing streets and alleys. A branch of the Yao River flows through the village, which is surrounded by rolling mountains and boasts beautiful scenery. The area retains an authentic, simple folk culture and ancient charm, including the majestic and splendid Zhang Family Ancestral Hall and a thousand-year-old cluster of camphor trees, some of which are over a thousand years old. Other attractions include Butterfly Love Valley, Pan Dongzi Red Army Bridge, and the Huizhou-Raozhou Ancient Road.

Taking a leisurely post-meal hike along the ancient road is a delightful experience.
