Nanshan Waterfall

Nanshan Waterfall is located at Gaoji Mountain in Wanghu, Yaoli, and is a cascade waterfall primarily composed of the Main Falls, Stoneflower Falls, Flying Dragon Falls, and Floating Brocade Falls, each offering a unique scenic view. The waterfall cluster stretches over 400 meters in total length with a cumulative drop of 220 meters. It features gentle slopes, broken rocks, and smooth, intact mountain rock surfaces. The area is densely surrounded by bamboo forests, with numerous unusual rocks dotting the landscape. The Main Falls, also known as Nanshan Waterfall, is over twenty meters wide and drops more than a hundred meters. It is truly “a cliff rising a thousand ren high, with cascading waters that roar like thunder and surge like rosy clouds.” During flood season, the water plunges straight down with a deafening roar audible several miles away. Even in dry seasons, the waterfall remains a delicate, hanging strand of silk—firm yet graceful, showcasing a distinctive charm.
