The Former Residence of Chen Yi in Yaoli is the place where Comrade Chen Yi, a proletarian revolutionary of the older generation and founding marshal of China, lived during 1937–1938 while guiding the reorganization of the New Fourth Army in Yaoli. It is now a photo exhibition hall dedicated to Chen Yi, focusing on the process of the New Fourth Army’s reorganization in Yaoli and providing an overview of Comrade Chen Yi’s life. It is a place where people can receive education on revolutionary traditions and be inspired by the thoughts of revolutionary predecessors.

Yaoli Town: Yaoli is located at the junction of Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, bordering four counties (Qimen and Xiuning in Anhui, and Wuyuan and Fuliang in Jiangxi), and is 59 kilometers from downtown Jingdezhen.

Yaoli, formerly known as Yaoliu, was historically part of Xinzheng Township, Jinxiu County, Fuliang. As early as the mid-Tang Dynasty, there were handicraft workshops producing ceramics here, and it got its name from the famous porcelain kilns. In the early 20th century, Yaoliu was renamed Yaoli three times. On August 24, 1994, it was restructured from a township into a town, and on April 2, 2001, it was designated as a provincial-level nature reserve.
