The Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Ceramic Art Museum is one of the first privately-run museums in our province. Dedicated to the preservation and inheritance of historical and cultural heritage, the Imperial Kiln Museum features innovative exhibition designs that systematically showcase the exquisite and outstanding handmade porcelain craftsmanship from various historical periods in Jingdezhen since the Tang Dynasty, offering a comprehensive and authentic introduction to Jingdezhen’s splendid and glorious ceramic history.

The Imperial Kiln Museum integrates “collection, preservation, research, exhibition, education, and promotion,” combining professionalism, knowledge, and entertainment. It consists of three sections: the ancient ceramics collection, Jingdezhen porcelain-making techniques, and ancient porcelain shard specimens. With an exhibition area of over 1,000 square meters, the museum houses hundreds of precious collections and tens of thousands of ancient porcelain shard specimens, ranking among the best in Jingdezhen’s private museums.

The Imperial Kiln Museum has curated the “Exhibition of the History of Jingdezhen Ceramic Techniques,” which provides a panoramic view of the long historical evolution of Jingdezhen’s porcelain-making craft—from pottery to porcelain, from plain ware to colored ware, from single-firing glaze to double-firing glaze, and from spur marks stacking to sagger upright firing. It presents a tangible and materialized history of Jingdezhen ceramics, distinguishing itself from other ceramic museums in Jingdezhen with its distinctive technical features. This core exhibition is unique and unprecedented in the history of ceramic exhibitions in Jingdezhen.

Exploring this ingeniously designed “Exhibition of Ceramic Techniques” allows visitors to revisit the development of Jingdezhen ceramics that “originated from nature and achieved the wonders of creation,” appreciate the ceramic masterpieces from various dynasties that “draw on the essence of all things and integrate human wisdom,” savor the profound and extensive cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, and enjoy a rich cultural and artistic feast. The museum organizes annual study tours for teachers and students from major universities and colleges across the country. To date, it has welcomed hundreds of thousands of domestic and international visitors, becoming a highlight of Jingdezhen’s ceramic cultural tourism.
