Fuliang County Museum

The Fuliang County Cultural Relics Protection Management Office and Fuliang County Museum were established in 1989. They are primarily responsible for the management and protection of cultural relics across the county, formulating and guiding cultural relics protection plans and restoration projects, as well as conducting surveys, excavations, and maintenance of cultural relics throughout the county. They are tasked with collecting and preserving cultural relics and specimens for scientific research, organizing and exhibiting displays, providing social consulting services, and serving as a comprehensive local museum. The county has 110 cultural relics protection units at various levels, including 2 national key cultural relics protection units; 11 provincial-level cultural relics protection units (including 9 quasi-national-level ones); 33 municipal-level cultural relics protection units; and 64 county-level cultural relics protection units. The museum houses a collection of 765 cultural relics. In 2012, renovations were carried out to enhance security, including the addition of heavy-duty iron racks, compact shelving, safes, and surveillance systems. Archaeological excavations were conducted at the Lantian Kiln site and Southern Song Dynasty ancient tombs in Nan’an. The "Museum Exhibition Enhancement and Layout Design Plan" was developed; public awareness campaigns for cultural relics protection were held on “Museum Day” to strengthen and improve public understanding. In 2013, the Hongta Restoration Project and overall lighting project were completed; the Lantian Kiln site protective shed construction was finished; the first national survey of movable cultural relics was initiated; and the publication "Millennial Relics" was officially released, showcasing the results of the third national survey of immovable cultural relics.
