Yangcheng Square

Yangcheng Square is a purely recreational cultural square covering an area of 11,000 square meters. It features various greenery, lighting, musical fountains, electronic screens, and cultural sculptures such as "Three Rams Bring Prosperity" and "Four Dreams of Linchuan." Its primary function is to provide citizens with a space for leisure and entertainment, and it can also be used for commercial performances. It is called "Yangcheng Square" because Fuzhou was historically abbreviated as Yangcheng. Its towering "Four Dreams of Linchuan" sculpture pillars and circular dry musical fountain create a rich cultural atmosphere, showcasing strong local cultural characteristics.

Majiashan Cultural Square is a large-scale square integrating leisure and commerce, with a total area of 28,243 square meters. The square includes a musical fountain, green spaces, and a shopping center, along with a hydraulic stage suitable for various large-scale cultural, commercial performances, and trade fairs. It serves as an ideal venue for city events, as well as for citizens’ fitness, leisure, and entertainment.

Riverside Garden Square is currently the most expensive and largest square in Fuzhou by actual area, spanning over 36,000 square meters. It embodies a green landscape that reflects "harmony between humans and nature," making it a popular spot for citizens’ leisure and recreation. Green areas account for 70% of the space, while pathways make up 30%. The square features a variety of scenic elements such as diverse green plants, small bamboo groves, rockeries, and leisure pavilions, all of which are distinctive and highly favored by residents. Adjacent to the Fu River and stretching 1.2 kilometers in length, Riverside Garden Square is a top choice for citizens’ morning exercises and walks.

Hubin Square is characterized by its unique and distinctive landscaping, lush greenery, and comprehensive lighting. Located by the West Lake, it is thus named "Hubin Square" (Lakefront Square). The entire square covers an area of 18,000 square meters and is divided into four zones: the entrance plaza area, children’s play area, leisure activity area, and performance area, primarily serving recreational and entertainment purposes. Although not very large in scale, Hubin Square features exquisitely crafted pavilions, lighting, and musical fountains, giving it distinct characteristics.

Square cultural activities, with their unique inclusiveness, attract citizens of different professions, ages, and interests. People spontaneously engage in artistic and fitness activities based on their own hobbies and needs. Leisure squares in the urban area are increasingly intertwined with citizens’ daily lives, becoming an indispensable part of life in Fuzhou, a new urban landmark, and a new calling card for the city.
