Menggang Stone Bridge

Menggang Stone Bridge is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Menggang Stone Bridge is located 400 meters west of the Xianie Village group, Shangnie Village, Songhu Township, Linchuan. It is one of the well-preserved Ming Dynasty ancient bridges in Linchuan District with high research value, and is listed as part of the second batch of municipal cultural heritage protection units in Fuzhou City.

The ancient bridge has nine piers and ten arches, stretching 100 meters in length and about 2 meters in width. Its deck is paved with seven bluestone slabs, each approximately 8 meters long, and it served as a major thoroughfare connecting Fuzhou to Nancheng at the time. Additionally, about 50 meters from the bridgehead stands a leisure pavilion, whose stone pillars are inscribed with a couplet: “Half of the verdant mountain leans by the thatched inn; a stream flows gently past the stone bridge.”
