Former Residence of Li Jingquan

Li Jingquan (1909–1989) was born into a peasant family in Cangxia Village, Changkai Town, Linchuan County, Jiangxi Province. He served as the First Secretary of the CPC Chuanxi District Committee, Chairman of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, First Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and First Political Commissar of the Provincial Military District, Secretary and later First Secretary of the CPC Southwest Bureau and First Political Commissar of the Chengdu Military Region. He was elected as a member of the 8th Central Committee of the CPC and a member of the Central Politburo, a member of the 10th and 11th Central Committees of the CPC, a Standing Committee member of the CPC Central Advisory Commission, and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th National People’s Congresses.

In August 2000, the former residence of Li Jingquan was designated as a “Fuzhou City Patriotic Education Base.”

Changkai Town: Located in the heart of the Gan-Fu Plain and in the lower reaches of the Fu River, Changkai Town covers an area of 48 square kilometers, with 35,152 mu of arable land and a population of 47,000. The town administers 18 village committees, one neighborhood committee, and 164 village groups. The land is fertile, the resources abundant, and the economy well-developed. National Highway 316 runs through the town, while the Dongxiang River and Fu River flow around it, providing very convenient water and land transportation. It serves as the market trade center and a major commodity distribution hub in northern Linchuan, and is also widely known within and outside the province as a hometown of construction and a key commercial town.
