Yangjia Village in Tonggu Jiuzhai

Yangjia Village is located 3 kilometers from the county town, at the heart of Tonggu County’s Geopark. Covering an area of over 400 hectares, it features typical Danxia landform. The mountain is densely forested with lush trees and bamboo, dotted with peculiar peaks and strange rocks. The terrain is rugged and uneven, with steep and treacherous slopes. Perhaps due to these unique geographical features, it has since ancient times attracted numerous outlaws to set up camps here. Historical records indicate that this area was once a military encampment and stronghold during ancient battles, as well as a base for some peasant uprisings. Legend has it that during the peasant rebellion led by Li Daluan in the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, his cousin Yang Qingshan once guarded this place. With its pristine natural scenery blended with hues of human history, Yangjia Village exudes a mysterious charm that commands reverence.
