The Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination.

The Tonggu Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is located on Chengnan Road, Yongning Town, Tonggu County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province. Built in 1996, it faces north and is constructed with granite and marble materials in a brick-concrete structure. Covering a total area of 14,500 square meters, the ground is paved with granite. It serves as a site for commemoration, education, and leisure, and is divided into a memorial square and a leisure square. The cemetery holds high artistic and preservation value.

Tonggu is a land steeped in revolutionary history. Comrade Mao Zedong personally initiated and led the world-shaking Autumn Harvest Uprising in the Hunan-Jiangxi border region here. Veteran proletarian revolutionaries such as Peng Dehuai, Teng Daiyuan, Wang Shoudao, and Xiao Ke carried out arduous struggles to establish the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Revolutionary Base Area here, making Tonggu the central hub of the base. The Party organizations and the people endured many hardships. In the revolutionary struggle against both domestic and foreign enemies and in the fight for national independence and liberation, over 20,000 outstanding sons and daughters sacrificed their precious lives, including more than 18,000 registered martyrs — accounting for 7% of the province’s total registered martyrs — making a significant contribution to China’s revolution and etching their names in history. In May 1956, a Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery was built at the northern end of the county bridge. In April 1996, with approval from the provincial civil affairs department, the cemetery was relocated to West Road in the county town. To inherit and carry forward the glorious revolutionary traditions of the people in the old revolutionary base, strengthen communist beliefs, and build a harmonious and safe Tonggu, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Autumn Harvest Uprising, our county invested over 3 million yuan to expand the cemetery.
