Ecological Selenium Valley Tourist Area

Ecological Selenium Valley Tourist Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Ecological Selenium Valley is located within Dongjia Town, Fengcheng City, and is under the administration of the People's Government of Dongjia Town, Fengcheng City. It officially opened to tourists in May 2008. Since 2007, the Fengcheng Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have placed high importance on the development and utilization of selenium-rich soil resources, incorporating the selenium-rich tourism industry into the “1268” project and key municipal projects. The industrial positioning is based on high standards, the industrial planning is built on high criteria, and the specific operations aim for high efficiency. The China Agricultural University was commissioned to develop the “Selenium-Rich Industry Plan for Fengcheng City, Jiangxi Province.” An investment of 5.5 million yuan was made to construct a 10-kilometer selenium-rich highway connecting Xinmei Highway to Dongjia Quanxi Village, reducing travel time from the development center to the Xinmei Expressway to just 12 minutes and to Fengcheng City proper to only half an hour. Green sightseeing projects such as a thousand-mu selenium-rich specialty fruit base and selenium-rich green vegetable greenhouse base have been established, with a total investment of 90 million yuan to date. The scenic area also features tourist attractions such as Jiulongshan Primeval Forest, Jingshu Temple, Millennium Ancient Cypress, Luoling Forest Farm, Mazu Lake, and Huangcheng Hot Springs.
