Old Pass of Wu and Chu

Old Pass of Wu and Chu is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

Old Pass of Wu and Chu is located in Laoguan Village, Laoguan Town, Xiangdong District, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province. Laoguan lies on the border of western Jiangxi. Legend has it that a checkpoint was established here as early as the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. During the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1522–1566), Magistrate Yang Zizhi built barracks and erected a pass tower in Laoguan. Although the checkpoint no longer stands, remnants of the city wall remain, hence the name "Old Pass." The entire structure is built from red stone, with a 132-meter-long section of the wall still standing — 2.3 meters high and 2.61 meters wide.

In March 2018, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units in Jiangxi Province.
