Taihe Martyrs' Memorial Hall

Taihe Martyrs' Memorial Hall is located in Baifeng Park, Taihe County. Taihe County lies at the foot of Jinggang Mountain and was an important battleground during the Second and Third Counter-"Encirclement" Campaigns. Veteran revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Zhu De once fought and lived here, and significant battles including the Baiyun Mountain Battle and the Laoyingpan Battle took place in succession. To commemorate the 5,920 named martyrs and over 10,000 unnamed martyrs, the Taihe County People's Government built the Taihe Martyrs' Memorial Hall in the center of the county town in 1978. In June 2008, it was relocated to its current site and expanded. The new hall covers an area of 43,000 square meters, with a construction area of 21,000 square meters, and includes the memorial hall, a martyrs' cemetery, and the Laoyingpan Battle Martyrs' Monument. The martyrs' cemetery features a Red Flag Gate, a memorial pavilion, a sculpture garden, a martyrs' name wall, and a burial area, where 591 martyrs are laid to rest. The memorial hall is a provincial-level martyrs' memorial facility protection unit in Jiangxi Province.
