Tomb of Luo Qingshun

The tomb of Luo Qingshun is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The tomb of Luo Qingshun is located on a mountain 150 meters south of Taogang Village, Youju Village Committee, Shangmo Township. Luo Qingshun (1465–1547), courtesy name Yunsheng, art name Zheng’an, was a native of Xigang Village, Shangmo Township. He ranked third in the imperial examination during the Ming Dynasty, served as Minister of Personnel in Nanjing, and retired in 1527 to his hometown, where he devoted himself to the study of Qi-based philosophy. He wrote *Record of Hard-Won Knowledge* in four volumes, along with two draft collections titled *Existence* and *Continuation*. *A History of Chinese Philosophy* discusses his materialist ideas and speaks highly of them. Luo Qingshun passed away on April 24, 1547, at the age of 83. An imperial decree was issued for his memorial rites, and he was posthumously honored with the title "Wenzhuang" (literary and dignified), granted the honorary rank of Grand Guardian of the Heir Apparent, and buried in Taogang. His tomb faces northeast and covers an area of approximately 3,400 square meters. In 1988, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.
