Learning-to-Walk Bridge

The Learning-to-Walk Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Handan City.

Introduction Located on Beiguan Street in downtown Handan, the bridge was originally made of wood and was rebuilt as a five-arch stone bridge during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. The bridge is 32 meters long, 9 meters wide, and 8 meters high. The balustrades and columns on both sides are intricately carved with historical stories and animal motifs such as lions and monkeys. At the center of each arch is a dragon head sculpted to look downward. Beside the ancient bridge, there is a stone sculpture depicting “Learning to Walk in Handan.” Transportation: Take Bus Routes 5, 6, 25, 35, 40, 63, 68, or 70 and get off at the Learning-to-Walk Bridge or Qizhong Station.
