The Ancient Stone Dragons Scenic Area is located 10 kilometers northwest of Handan City, Hebei Province, 4 kilometers north along National Highway 309 from the Ancient Stone Dragons Archway, or 7 kilometers west along National Highway 107 from Huangliangmeng. It is a comprehensive tourism scenic area integrating natural landscapes, historical sites, and leisure vacationing.

The Ancient Stone Dragons Scenic Area covers an area of 600,000 square meters and is situated at the eastern foothills of the Taihang Mountains and the eastern slope of Zishan Mountain, just 1 kilometer north of the Zhao Kings' Tombs. The terrain, shaped over time by rainfall runoff, features feather-like gullies that divide the foothills and hills into ridge-like patterns. Lakes, flatlands, ravines, hills, and rocky cliffs are interconnected, giving rise to the ancient name "Crouching Dragon Ridge." The ancient stone dragon cluster within the ridge was discovered in 1988 when local villagers dug earth to make bricks for house construction. There is one large dragon and nine smaller dragons, which correspond to the legend of the dragon having nine sons. The dragons are remarkably lifelike, each formed by stacked segments of grayish-white sandstone about one meter in length.
