Red Mountain Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Red Mountain Temple in Wuan City, Eastern Taihang Mountains, is located at the foot of Zijin Mountain, 25 kilometers northeast of Wuan City. It is a renowned Buddhist sacred site in North China, originally built during the reign of Emperor Zhongzong of the Tang Dynasty (707 AD). In 1730, Emperor Kangxi visited the temple during his southern tour and composed a poem: “The mountain stones are crimson as cinnabar, the fine peaks represent the five elements, a true paradise for immortals.” The main structures include the Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Red Mountain Goddess Hall, the Black Dragon Hall, the Nine Dragons Goddess Hall, and a total of 72 halls of various sizes. Other scenic features include Candle Mountain, Red Mountain Lake, lush greenery, clear waters, deep valleys, and serene landscapes — truly a “heaven on earth.”
