Shimen Yuhu Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Era: Ming and Qing Dynasties

Location: Shimen Village, Gande Town, Anxi County

Introduction: Originally built during the Song Dynasty and renovated multiple times, it retains architectural styles from the Ming and Qing periods. Facing south, the hall is three bays wide and three bays deep, with a hip-and-gable roof and a post-and-lintel wooden structure. It still preserves Song Dynasty column bases and a plaque inscribed with “Zhenren Shidi” (True Man’s Sacred Land), among other relics.

The hall enshrines Baosheng Dadi, also known as Wu Ben, a divine physician of the Song Dynasty. Associated cultural relics include two ancestral halls of the Wu family, both built during the Ming Dynasty.

Protected area: 50 meters east to Da’an, 50 meters west to the bamboo forest path, 200 meters north to the top of Dianpinglun, and 50 meters south to the main road below the hall steps.

In 2009, Shimen Yuhu Hall was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Shimen Village: Southeast of the village school lies a natural cave passable by people, formed by four massive rocks, hence called the “Shimen” (Stone Gate). Ancient calligraphy by the master Zhang Ruitu is inscribed on the boulders, reading “Shimen, Zhenren Gu Di” (Stone Gate, Sacred Land of the True Man). Since Zihui Gong relocated from Jiandou to Shimen to establish the settlement, during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, the area was known as Shimen Bao in Changleg Li, Jintian Xiang, Qingxi County. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it merged with Longtong Village to become Shilong Township, with its administrative center located in Shimen. In 1952, under the small district and township system, Shimen Village was designated as the thirteenth area and remains under the jurisdiction of Gande to this day.
