The Chongyong Yongzhi Tower is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Chongyong Yongzhi Tower is located in Longtong Village, Gande Town, Anxi County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Commonly known as the "Longtong Earthen Tower." It faces west and has a square floor plan, with each side measuring 29 meters and a height of 13 meters. The lintel above the gate is inscribed with “Chongyong Yongzhi” (Lofty Walls Stand Eternal), dated “Established in the Guayue month of the Jiashen year.” The building covers a construction area of 1,800 square meters and occupies a site area of 1,050 square meters. The outer stone foundation of the wall is 2.8 meters thick, and the rammed earth wall is 2 meters thick. It has three stories with a total of 72 rooms. The third floor features a 1.6-meter-wide walkway that encircles the tower. All four walls are equipped with windows, lookout holes, and shooting holes fitted with bamboo tubes.

In 2013, the Chongyong Yongzhi Tower was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: The area extends 20 meters outward on the east, west, and north sides of the tower, and 60 meters southward to the Earth Tower Bridge.

Longtong Village: In ancient times, Longtong was called “Lindong.” In antiquity, anyone traveling to the markets of Taotu or Yidu had to pass through Longtong Village, making it a well-connected hub, which later earned it the refined name Longtong. During the Republic of China period, it merged with Shimen Village to form Xianmen Bao. In 1952, it split from Xianmen Bao to become part of Shilong Township under the jurisdiction of the Thirteenth District. In November 1958, it separated from Shilong Township to become Longtong Brigade. In 1984, it was reorganized as Longtong Village Committee. It lies 5.7 kilometers north of the town government seat, on the southeastern slope of Lotus Mountain, at an elevation of 692 meters.
