Nanyan Taishan Building is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Nanyan Taishan Building is located in Nanyan Village, Xiping Town, Anxi County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Facing west and situated eastward, it has a rectangular floor plan and consists of a main building along with left and right wing rooms, covering a construction area of 2,063 square meters. The two-story main building includes 20 rooms, with the first-floor walls being 1.2 meters thick and the second-floor walls 0.8 meters thick. A corridor is set between the second-floor rooms and the walls, and the exterior walls are built with granite, featuring bucket-shaped windows and trumpet-shaped holes used for lookout and shooting. The left wing room includes four bedrooms, two living rooms, and one courtyard, while the right wing room has six bedrooms, two living rooms, and one courtyard.

In 2013, Nanyan Taishan Building was announced as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: An extension of 10 meters outward from all sides of the building.

Nanyan Village: Nanyan Village is under the jurisdiction of Xiping Town, Anxi County, located in the southern part of Anxi County, nestled among the hills of Nanyan Peak (with an elevation of 1,002 meters). It neighbors Shangyao Village and Yaoyang Village, and is about 6 kilometers from the Xiping Town area. The village has a total population of 2,668, with residents surnamed Wang and Li. The Wang family of Nanyan descends from Wang Shenzhi’s lineage, specifically the Wang Jicheng branch, belonging to the Lutian Wang family’s Waiyang branch. In the second year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1507), Wang Yian migrated from Lutian Waiyang to Yaoyang in Xiping, and the descendants have thrived for over twenty generations, spreading to villages such as Nanyan, Shangyao, and Yaoshan. The Li family resides in Licuopu, Nanyan, with their origins remaining to be investigated.
