The An’erzhuang Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the Hebei Provincial level.

The An’erzhuang Site

The An’erzhuang Site is located on the “Lijiagang” terrace northeast of An’erzhuang Village in Kang’ercheng Town, about 8 kilometers northeast of Wu’an City. The site spans 500 meters from east to west and 500 meters from north to south, covering an area of 250,000 square meters. It has a cultural layer 1.5 meters thick, with main artifacts including pottery and stone tools. The pottery is primarily made of fine red clay, followed by sand-tempered red clay. Painted pottery mainly features red and black colors, with decorative patterns such as arc-shaped triangles, incised lines, and basket weaves. Pottery items include double-lipped bottles, painted pottery bowls, and jars; stone tools include stone shovels, stone axes, and stone rings. The site is attributed to the Neolithic period, belonging to the Hougang Phase I Culture and the Dasikong Culture. It is now a key cultural heritage site protected at the Hebei Provincial level.
