Xiyingjing Pagoda

The Xiyingjing Pagoda is located in Xiyingjing Village, Wu'an City. It was originally situated within the Fuxiang Temple, which has since been destroyed. Carved during the Northern Song Dynasty, the pagoda consists of three tiers and now stands 7 meters high. The base is a square Sumeru pedestal, while the body is octagonal and divided into three levels, with each level separated by a canopy. The canopies feature unique carvings including beads, lotus flowers, flying apsaras, and tile patterns. The southern face of the first tier of the pagoda body is inscribed in regular script with the 12 characters “为国敬造佛顶尊胜陀罗尼幢” (Dedicated to the Nation, this Pagoda of the Glorious Uṣṇīṣa Victory Dhāraṇī Was Created), while the other sides are fully covered with dhāraṇī scriptures. The second tier of the pagoda body has eight sides, each carved with a niche containing a seated Buddha. The third tier has niches on the east, west, south, and north sides, each housing a Buddha statue. The pagoda body is partially damaged, with only three remaining rings of the finial. It is now a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.
