Wuan Longevity Village
Wuan Longevity Village is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
Longevity Village, located at Aihoupeng Village at the foot of Motian Ridge, 56 kilometers northwest of Wu’an City, is known as the "Longevity Village" because since its establishment, villagers have rarely suffered from illness or cancer, living long lives with an average lifespan of over 85 years. Longevity Village is also part of the?清澈釉垂?壹渡?止?啊⒑颖蔽浒补?业刂使?啊⑶嘌抡?〖蹲匀槐;で?傲皆耙磺?钡闹匾?然?厍?。 Here, mineral water springs abound, the population enjoys robust health, and life expectancy is notably high. The air is fresh, the environment serene, and the area is rich in negative ions. Visitors can breathe in the fresh air, cleanse their lungs, admire the beautiful scenery, and rejuvenate both body and mind.
Walking along the dark brown stone path into the village, beside the mountain cliffs at the edge of the village, a clear, sweet spring gushes out from the rocks, forming a bubbling stream. Rich in minerals and herbal elements, the spring water has been the daily drink of the villagers, contributing to their good health and longevity—thus it is called the "Longevity Spring." The highest peak of Motian Ridge stands at 1,747.5 meters above sea level. The area features undulating mountains and deep valleys. The mountain is abundant in resources, with pristine secondary forests covering the sky, home to dozens of precious tree species such as Chinese pine, Korean pine, lacquer trees, and chestnut trees. There are also thousands of acres of wild honeysuckle tea plantations and over 200 types of medicinal herbs, including codonopsis, salvia, astragalus, bupleurum, and polygonum multiflorum. Due to the lush vegetation, humid climate, and ample rainfall, combined with the filtration of various medicinal roots, the water that seeps underground forms these refreshing springs. Honeysuckle has the effect of clearing the lungs and reducing inflammation. Villagers pick the tender leaves, steam them using traditional methods to make tea, and brew it with the spring water. Drinking this regularly has health-preserving benefits, hence it is called "Longevity Tea."
Visitors to the village often sit on stone stools by the tea tables near the springs, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the deep valleys and forests while receiving cups filled with spring water from hospitable local girls. They drink it all in one go, savoring the cool, refreshing, and naturally sweet taste of the pristine spring. After drinking, they often refill two bottles to take with them for their mountain hikes. The charm of Longevity Village also lies in its ever-changing scenery throughout the four seasons and the absence of summer heat, making it a true hidden paradise deep in the Taihang Mountains and one of the best summer retreats in China.
