Ganxi Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The management authority of the Ganxi Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Pingshan County is entrusted by the Gantang Township Government of Pingshan County to Pingnan Xiang’an Tourism Development Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the protection, management, development, and utilization of the water conservancy projects and landscape resources within the scenic area.

The scenic area is built around natural rivers, lakes, stone mountains, and stream waterscapes, integrating nearby small (Type I) reservoirs, power stations, and other water conservancy projects. The natural landscape and waterscape are perfectly combined, offering high sightseeing and recreational value through its pristine eight major natural landscapes, natural river rafting, as well as cultural elements such as the former residence of Gan Guobao and traditional ancient villages. It provides visitors with a comfortable leisure environment. According to the "Water Function Zone Division Standards" and the "Fujian Province Important Rivers, Lakes, and Reservoirs Water Function Zone Plan," the Ganxi Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located within a protected zone (Class II water function area). The streams and mountain tributaries are mainly mountainous water systems, with no industrial pollution in the upstream and surrounding areas. The scenic area has invested substantial human and material resources to enhance its protection efforts. The development of water conservancy tourism projects has minimal comprehensive impact on water quality and aquatic ecological environments, while also playing a certain role in promoting local economic development.

Xiaoliyang Village: Xiaoliyang Village is located in the southern part of Pingshan County. The village faces south with its back against rolling green mountains and fronts a large stream. Three kilometers downstream to the east is the Baitan Lake Power Station, to the west it borders Badi, 7 kilometers from the seat of Gantang Township, to the south it adjoins Duanjingdou in Xiling Township, and to the north it borders Liping, 14 kilometers from the county town. The village covers an area of 1.6 square kilometers, with a total of 243 households and a current population of 996 people. It administers one Qingshan natural village and 11 villager groups.
