Era: Qing Dynasty

Location: Xiaoliyang Village, Gantang Township, Pingnan County

Introduction: Originally built in the eighth year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1635), it faces south and is situated to the north. The residence consists of a gate pavilion, main hall, fish-viewing pond, and garden, all enclosed by rammed earth walls. It covers an area of 373 square meters. The main hall has two stories, featuring a single-eave, hanging-hip roof supported by through-tenon construction, with a width of three bays and a depth of five columns.

Gan Guobao (1709–1775) was born here. During his tenure as the General of Taiwan, he promoted harmony between the Han and Gaoshan ethnic groups and helped maintain national unity.

In 2009, Xiaoliyang Gan Guobao’s Former Residence was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Xiaoliyang Village: Located in the southern part of Pingnan County, Xiaoliyang Village faces south and is backed by rolling green mountains, fronted by a large stream. Three kilometers downstream to the east lies the Baitan Lake Hydropower Station; to the west it borders Badi, 7 kilometers from the seat of Gantang Township; to the south it connects with Duanjingdou in Xiling Township; and to the north it borders Liping, 14 kilometers from the county seat. The village covers an area of 1.6 square kilometers, with a total of 243 households and a current population of 996 people. It administers one Qingshan natural village and 11 villager groups. Xiaoliyang Village is home to four ancestral tombs of Gan Guobao, namely: elephant-shaped, turtle-shaped, lion-shaped, and snake-shaped.
