Qingliu County is characterized by “bizarre mountains, karst caves, lakes, hot springs, canyons, temples, and red tourism,” especially with eight radon hot springs that have the highest water temperature and most concentrated distribution in the province, forming the province’s only provincial-level geothermal park. There is also the Jiulong Lake Provincial Scenic Area, which combines lakes, caves, canyons, and ancient culture. Additionally, there is the Lixiang Township Ten-Thousand-Mu Ecological Park Cold Spring Summer Resort, which has been successfully selected as one of the “Top Ten Most Potential Rural Leisure Tourism Destinations in Haixi” and listed among the ten key projects in the province’s “11th Five-Year Plan” for tourism. The county has initially developed a tourism structure centered around “one lake” (Jiulong Lake), “one cave” (Jiulong Cave), and “two springs” (hot spring and cold spring).

The cold spring is crystal-clear, sweet, and fragrant. Like the mountain hot springs, it is scattered throughout the region, resembling dazzling pearls embedded deep in the mountains and forests. The medicinal spring has five outlets, with water temperatures maintained at around 8°C year-round. Visiting in the peak of summer and taking a few sips of the spring water offers a numbing and spicy sensation, earning it the nickname “natural soda.” The medicinal spring contains elements such as strontium and lithium, and this type of mineral water is currently quite popular worldwide.
