Yu Gong Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Location: Dongshan Village, Changxiao Town, Qingliu County

Introduction: Initially built in the late Tang Dynasty, it was constructed by the Xiao family of Dongshan to commemorate their ancestor Xiao Yu, a renowned official of the early Tang Dynasty. The temple has been repaired through the dynasties, and the current structure reflects Qing Dynasty architectural style. It consists of the front courtyard, gate tower, main hall, and covers an area of approximately 150 square meters. The building features intricate wooden floral brackets, phoenix-head false ang, and spiral caisson ceilings.

Protected area: 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2009, Yu Gong Temple was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Changxiao Town: Located in the south of Qingliu County, Fujian Province, Changxiao Town lies at a key transportation junction in northwestern Fujian. It neighbors Dengjia and Lingdi within the county to the east, borders Changting of Longyan to the west, adjoins Sibao of Liancheng—known as the hometown of ancient woodblock printing—to the south, and is adjacent to Litian within the county to the north. The administrative area spans 141 square kilometers, encompassing 10 administrative villages and 22 natural villages. With a total population of 12,821, it is a major agricultural town in Qingliu County and also a well-known old revolutionary base area. The town center is 46 kilometers from Qingliu County seat and 32 kilometers from Guanzhai Mountain, a national 4A-level scenic spot in Liancheng.
