The Yicheng Ancient Tombs are tombs from the Eastern Han Dynasty, located at the southern teaching ground in Yicheng Village, Yicheng Town, Wu’an City. The Yicheng Ancient Tombs are among the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Handan City.

Yicheng Town: Yicheng Town is located in the northeastern part of Wu’an City, adjacent to Xingtai City, and serves as the northern gateway to Wu’an. The town administers 25 administrative villages with a total population of 35,000, covering an area of 67 square kilometers. Yicheng Town has a long history, having been established during the Spring and Autumn Period. Since the Qin Dynasty’s implementation of the commandery and county system, it has served as the seat of a county on several occasions, hence the name “Yicheng” (literally “County City”). Through continuous restoration, it gradually developed into a key town described as “alleys like a chessboard, roads like thoroughfares, situated at strategic passes, and a hub for merchants,” and is one of the eight ancient towns of Wu’an City. Yicheng Town enjoys convenient transportation—the Xingtai–Duan Highway runs directly north through the town, the Wu’an–Yicheng Highway leads straight into the center of the town, and the Yuxian–Wu’an Railway stretches east to west.
