Zengfang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

The Zengfang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province and a classic destination on the red tourism route.

The Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is located on the southern foothills of Longbei Mountain in Zengfang Village, Linshe Township, Qingliu County.

The cemetery was first built in September 1965 as a cenotaph to commemorate three revolutionary martyrs from the same family in the township—Zeng Fuliang, Zeng Qiyi, and Xie Yuj. All three martyrs were from Zengfang Village, Linshe Township. Among them, Zeng Fuliang and Zeng Qiyi were father and son, while Zeng Qiyi and Xie Yuj were husband and wife. Zeng Qiyi joined the local Red Guards in Linshe in June 1931, enlisted in the 34th Red Army Division in October of the following year, and died in battle against the enemy in Ruijin, Jiangxi in November 1934. His father, Zeng Fuliang, and his wife, Xie Yuj, both joined the local Red Guards in Linshe in March 1933 and sacrificed their lives in September 1934.

The Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery was renovated in December 2009. It stands 3.5 meters tall. At the center of the top of the tomb is a design featuring two sheaves of wheat encircling a five-pointed red star. On either side of the tomb is a pillar, topped with an eternal flame. Each pillar bears an inscription: the left reads “Revolutionary heroes live on through the ages,” and the right, “The martyrs’ glory shines for centuries.” The central part of the tombstone is inscribed with the words “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs.”

In November 2009, the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery was designated as a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
