Beianzhuang Pagoda

Beianzhuang Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

Beianzhuang Pagoda is located in Beianzhuang Township, Wu'an City, and was built during the Ming Dynasty. The pagoda faces south and is a hollow brick tower of pavilion style, standing approximately 20 meters tall with an octagonal base. It consists of a foundation, body, and finial. The base is buried underground, and its structure and height are unknown. The pagoda's body is octagonal, with the first story being wider and each successive level decreasing in size. Each level is separated by brick imitation wooden bracket sets, lintels, and eaves, with the number and style of bracket sets varying on each level. The finial consists of a base and spire; the base is a semi-circular inverted-bowl shape topped with an iron lotus-petal Sumeru pedestal, upon which sit two layers of iron bead-shaped finial spikes.

The pagoda is largely well-preserved and is one of the few remaining ancient Ming Dynasty pagodas in Wu'an and southern Hebei. Its architecture is elegant, the eave designs are unique, and the carving craftsmanship is exquisite, giving it significant research value.

Beianzhuang Pagoda is among the second batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Handan City.
