Dongqiao Bridge in Datian Town

Dongqiao Bridge in Datian Town is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Located on the Junxi River in the urban area, Dongqiao Bridge was first built in the eighth year of the Chenghua reign during the Ming Dynasty (1472). It is a multi-arch stone corridor bridge, 30 meters long, 8 meters wide, with an arch height of 26 meters, and was known at the time as the "Rainbow Shadow over the Eastern Stream." In 1985, the county government renovated Dongqiao Bridge and erected an inscribed stele at the bridgehead. After the renovation, the bridge's structure became even more majestic and spectacular. There is a poem that reads: "A great bridge spans north and south, its sight surpasses a rainbow in the sky, standing firm since ancient times, a marvel built by wisdom."
