Datian Taian Fort

Datian Taian Fort is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Located in Xiaohua Village, Taihua Town, it was built in the year of Ding Si during the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1857), with three stories and covering an area of about 1,000 square meters. In a time of social unrest, people longed deeply for peace and prosperity, so when the fort was constructed, it was named “Taian Fort,” meaning “peace for the nation and the people.” The fort is most notable for its triple gates, three watchtower-like angle towers of varying sizes, and the central courtyard, featuring some architectural elements of tulou buildings. It is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
