Beiyangqi

Beiyangqi is located in Daji Village, Guangping Town, with a vegetation coverage rate of 100%. It boasts over 9,000 mu of ecological conservation forest, including more than 5,000 mu of primeval forest, and its highest peak stands at an elevation of 1,304 meters. The scenic area is rich in biodiversity, home to numerous ancient trees that are thousands of years old, such as valuable species like Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Castanopsis fargesii, camphor trees, Chinese yew, and Phoebe bournei; it also features rare medicinal herbs like Senecio scandens, Asarum sieboldii, and Anoectochilus roxburghii; rare wild animals such as bears, goats, pangolins, and the “four-legged fish”; natural landscapes including Tongluo Cliff Waterfall, crystal-clear streams, and Longtan Pool; as well as beautiful legends like “Taoist Pond” and “Rice-Stone.” The scenic area borders both Sanming and Yong’an, situated 38 kilometers from Sanming and just 8 kilometers from Provincial Highway 306, making it easily accessible. It serves as an ideal destination for leisure, summer retreats, and eco-tourism. Once developed, it will be connected with other tourist areas such as the Geshi Castanopsis Forest in Sanming, Taoyuan Cave and Anzheng Fort in Yong’an, forming a golden tourism route.
