Xiangshan
Xiangshan is the most representative peak among the Datian mountain range, with its main summit standing at an elevation of 1,432 meters. From the mountaintop, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful landscapes of surrounding counties and cities. The scenic area boasts the largest natural grassland in inland Fujian Province, earning it the title “Southern Tianshan.” The Xiangshan Scenic Area features thousands of acres of pristine forests, Tianxin Lake, Red Bean Valley, Sword Testing Waterfall, Ten Thousand Soldiers Rock, Stone Formations, Water Curtain Cave, marshlands, and Xiangshan Temple, among other natural attractions. It is also home to rare flora and fauna such as red azaleas, yew trees, nanmu, pangolins, and the oriental fire-bellied newt. The area enjoys fresh air, gentle terrain, and expansive alpine meadows, making it ideal for summer retreats and outdoor sports tourism.
Plans are currently underway to develop outdoor sports facilities including a high-altitude football field, tennis court, basketball court, as well as a standard 18-hole alpine golf course, a golf driving range, and supporting infrastructure such as a visitor center, parking lots, walking trails, scenic pavilions, fitness areas, water sports facilities, and religious venues. These developments aim to create a rare high-altitude resort and summer retreat in the province, complete with recreational and wellness amenities.
