Fuyan Hall

Fuyan Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Fuyan Hall is located in Zhoutian Village, Junxi Town, Datian County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Originally built in the Shaoxing Bingchen year (1136) of the Southern Song Dynasty, it was reconstructed in the mid-Qing period and has undergone several renovations. Facing east and situated to the west, the hall covers a construction area of 572 square meters, consisting of a crescent-shaped pond, courtyard, side wing rooms, the main hall, as well as the huatai and auxiliary structures. The main hall is nine bays wide, eight pillars deep, features a post-and-lintel wooden frame, a rammed earth floor, and a flush-gable roof.

Protective boundary: The area extends 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, Fuyan Hall was announced as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Junxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Datian County and the county seat. Established as the Junxi District in 1949, it became Chengguan Town in 1958. In the same year, Dongfeng Commune was founded, which was renamed Chengguan Commune in 1962, then Junxi Commune in 1972, and finally upgraded to a town in 1984. Located in the central part of the county, it is 129 kilometers from downtown Sanming. Covering an area of 136.2 square kilometers with a population of 54,000, it is traversed by Provincial Highway Hou (Mao)–Xin (Ji).
