Former Site of the Central Fujian Working Committee – Xihe Ancestral Hall

The Former Site of the Central Fujian Working Committee – Xihe Ancestral Hall is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Central Fujian Working Committee – Xihe Ancestral Hall is located in Taoxi Village, Wuling Township, Datian County, dating back to 1942.

Description: Originally built during the Southern Song Dynasty, it was reconstructed in the early Qing Dynasty. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1875–1908), it served as the former residence of Lin Yichun, a top imperial scholar and imperial guard. Later, it became the ancestral hall of the Lin family. Facing south and built with earth and wood, the building covers a construction area of 596 square meters and a site area of 812 square meters. It consists of a crescent-shaped pond, pathway, surrounding wall, inner rain courtyard, lower hall, patio, main hall, rear flower terrace, and side wing rooms. In February 1942, following instructions from the provincial committee, the local Datian organization of the Chinese Communist Party held a meeting at Xihe Ancestral Hall in Wuling, Datian. The Xihe Ancestral Hall served as the founding and main operational site of the Central Fujian Working Committee, where numerous important meetings were held to lead and carry out revolutionary activities.

Protected Area: 10 meters east of the outer wall, 20 meters south of the outer wall, 10 meters west of the outer wall, and 10 meters north of the outer wall.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Central Fujian Working Committee – Xihe Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the ninth batch of Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the Fujian Provincial People’s Government.

Administrative Division: The village consists of two natural villages (Xiayang and Huashan).

Population Data: The village has a total of 503 households, 1,850 residents, and 16 villager groups.

Natural Resources: The village covers a total land area of 17,207 mu, including 12,382 mu of forestland, 3,854 mu of ecological public welfare forest, and 1,524 mu of cultivated land (including 1,258 mu of paddy fields and 266 mu of dry land).
