The Yuefei Temple Grottoes are a cultural heritage protection unit of Handan City.

The Yuefei Temple Grottoes are located in Guantao Township, Wu’an City, and date back to the Tang Dynasty.

The Yuefei Temple Grottoes are among the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Handan City.

Guantao Township: Located in the western mountainous area of Wu’an City, Guantao Township sits at the junction of two provinces (Hebei and Shanxi) and three counties (Wu’an, [county name missing], and Zuoquan), covering a total area of 188 square kilometers. It governs 38 administrative villages, 108 natural villages, with 5,900 households and a population of 18,500. The township has 11,000 able-bodied workers, and its arable land spans 15,477 mu, including 3,110 mu of irrigated land and 12,367 mu of dry land, averaging 0.8 mu per person. Due to a lack of underground resources and limited local enterprises, the economic conditions are relatively underdeveloped. In 2005, the per capita income was 2,035 yuan.
