The Jiulong Lake · Jiulong Cave Group Scenic Area boasts well-preserved primeval forest vegetation, vast water surfaces, and distinctive landscapes characterized by "mountains in the lake, caves in the mountains, and water in the caves." Major attractions within the area include: the Town-Protecting Buddha Stone in Jiulong Gorge, the Jiulong Crossing-the-River Stone, Chicken Cockscomb Island and Divine Turtle Island in the lake center, Baima Mountain, the Jiulong Cave Group, ancient eye fossil formations, Candlestick Mountain, Mandarin Duck Bay, Ten-Li Flat Lake, Jiulong Gorge, various large and small islands in the lake center, Mengxi Valley, Erdiequan Waterfall, Fish Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, and Heavenly Scripture Rock.

For visiting water attractions, visitors can take painted pleasure boats; speedboats are also available for cruising the Jiulong Lake route, but the speedboat fare is charged separately.

Divine Turtle Island in the lake center covers an area of nearly 300 acres, facing Baima Mountain. The karst caves scattered throughout Baima Mountain form the Jiulong Cave Group, which features abundant stalactites and has yielded discoveries of ancient human fossils.

Outside the caves, ancient trees thrive and vines entwine amid vast, dense primeval forests. The ground is covered with wildflowers, creating a refreshing and pleasant scenery. Downstream along the lake lies the 20-kilometer-long Jiulong Gorge, where the Jiulong Eighteen Rapids were once known as "the foremost wonder of Fujian’s waters." The steep cliffs on both sides offer views of clear waters, swimming fish, peculiar rocks, and sturdy pines.

Ticket Information:

Scenic Area Entrance Fee: 30 RMB; Electric Cart: 10 RMB; Boat Ride: 20 RMB; Jiulong Cave Ticket: 50 RMB; Speedboat: 500 RMB per hour (up to 9 people). Guide Fee: 20 RMB for groups under 10 people; for groups of 10 or more, base price is 20 RMB, plus 2 RMB per additional person.
