The Root of Life at Guanzhai Mountain

The "Root of Life" grows in the valley beneath the Longevity Pavilion at the summit of Guanzhai Mountain. A colossal cylindrical stone pillar rises abruptly from the ground, appearing tall and massive. Whether viewed up close or from high above, it resembles an erect, imposing male symbol. Standing alone in the valley and between heaven and earth, it points directly to the sky, brimming with masculine energy, evoking boundless inspiration for striving and perseverance.

The Origin of Guanzhai Mountain’s Name:

The Xiezhi is a mythical beast from ancient legends, resembling a goat but with a single horn. "It can distinguish right from wrong; when it sees people fighting, it uses its horn to gore the unjust."

Judges could use this to determine guilt or innocence, hence the judicial cap was called a "Guanzhi," symbolizing impartiality, uprightness, and the eradication of evil. The mountain's name "Guanzhai" reflects this profound symbolism.

The Guanzhai Mountain Scenic Area consists of five sightseeing zones: the Xiezhi Crown, Shimen Lake, Tianzhai, Jiulong Lake, and Yunxiao Rock. It combines the grandeur of mountains, water, rock formations, caves, springs, temples, and gardens, embodying a majestic, pristine, and serene beauty.
