Luofang Yunlong Bridge

Luofang Yunlong Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Yunlong Bridge is situated in Xiapu Village, Luofang Township, Liancheng County, Longyan City. It was built in the seventh year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1634) and underwent renovation in the thirty-sixth year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1771). This six-pier, seven-arch wooden corridor bridge with stone piers is 81 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 20 meters high. One end of the bridge is attached to a cliff. The piers are made of granite slabs, topped with round logs arranged in seven layers that interlock both vertically and horizontally to form the bridge supports. These supports hold up the round logs that make up the bridge deck and corridor structure. The bridge houses are upheld by 128 wooden pillars arranged in four rows, supporting a sweeping hip-and-gable roof. The bridge deck is paved with cobblestones, and double-layered eaves are installed along both sides. At the center of the bridge stands a pavilion and a two-story, hexagonal, pointed-roofed Kui Xing Tower. Archways are built at both ends of the bridge. The overall roof style of the bridge follows the hip-and-gable design. In 1996, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Xiapu Village: Located in the northwest of Liancheng, Xiapu Village in Luofang Township borders Linfang Township to the east, Xuanhe Township to the south, Tongfang Town of Changting to the west, and Beituang Town to the north. County Road 661 runs through the village, leading directly to the ancient residences of Xuanhe.

Xiapu Village boasts 10,640 acres of scenic and ecological forest land, sits at an elevation of 350 meters, and enjoys an average annual temperature of 18.9°C. Traditional architecture in the area includes the Luo Family Ancestral Hall, Yunlong Bridge, Tianhou Palace, Manong, San Shi Temple, Lianzhang Temple, Guan Sheng Temple, and the Eight-Pillar Archway, as well as the more recently constructed General’s Building.
