Bizhou Wenchang Pavilion

Bizhou Wenchang Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Bizhou Wenchang Pavilion is located in Bizhou Village, Juxi Town, Liancheng County, Longyan City. Constructed in the 31st year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1692), it underwent renovation in the 5th year of the Tongzhi reign (1866) and was restored once more in 1983. Covering an area of 500 square meters, it has a pyramidal roof and employs a post-and-lintel wooden structural system. The first and second floors are square, and the third, fourth, and fifth floors are octagonal. The second floor features corridors that connect all around. The pavilion entrance is styled like a traditional memorial archway, and in front of the pavilion there is a Pan Pond and Pan Bridge. In 2001, it was jointly designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province along with Yonglong Bridge and Tianhou Palace.

Juxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Liancheng County. During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to the Han Yuan Xia Li area of Tingzhou; in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was part of Heyuan Li; during the Republic of China period, it was known as Juxi Township. In 1958, it became Juxi Commune, reverted to township status in 1984, and was upgraded to a town in 1993. Located in the central-southern part of the county, it is 30 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 388 square kilometers with a population of 20,000, the town government is headquartered in Jushi.
