Yonglong Bridge

Yonglong Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Yonglong Bridge is located in Bizhou Village, Juxi Town, Liancheng County, Longyan City. Constructed in the 10th year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1377), it is a four-pier, five-bay covered bridge. The bridge spans 72 meters in length and 5 meters in width. Its piers are built from granite slabs in a boat-like form, and the bridge structure consists of round logs arranged in seven layers in a crosswise, inverted trapezoidal pattern. The deck is covered with cobblestones. The bridge house features three bays and is supported by 25 pairs of wooden columns, topped with flush gable roofs. Double rain shelters are installed along both sides of the bridge. In 2001, it was jointly designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province along with the Wenchang Pavilion and Tianhou Palace.

Juxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Liancheng County. During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Xiayang Lower Li in Tingzhou; in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was part of Heyuan Li; during the Republic of China, it was known as Juxi Township. In 1958, it became Juxi Commune, reverted to a township in 1984, and was upgraded to a town in 1993. Located in the central-southern part of the county, it is 30 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 388 square kilometers with a population of 20,000, the town government is stationed in Jushi. It administers 21 village committees: Jushi, Julian, Bizhou, Xiaojv, Dunkeng, Qiangli, Houpu, Wukeng, Gekou, Xiyuan, Ledi, Zhankeng, Xiashang, Chijia Mountain, Luodi, Chendi, Xiadi, Gaodi, Taiping’ai, Chijia Mountain, Pingkeng, and Meicuntou.
