Bizhou Tianhou Temple

The Bizhou Tianhou Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Tianhou Temple is located in Bizhou Village, Juxi Town, Liancheng County, Longyan City. It was first built in the late Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty and completed in the early Jiaqing era. Covering an area of 440 square meters, the temple features a palatial architectural style. The main hall has a caisson ceiling supported by bracket sets, an octagonal caisson dome, side corridors on both left and right, and a stage in the lower hall. The temple houses stone carvings and painted artwork. It is an important cultural relic related to Taiwan in the province. In 2001, it was jointly announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province along with the Wenchang Pavilion and Yonglong Bridge.

Juxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Liancheng County. During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to the Han Yuan Xiaoli of Tingzhou; in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was part of the Heyuan Li; during the Republic of China, it was known as Juxi Township. In 1958, it became Juxi Commune; in 1984, it was re-established as a township; and in 1993, it was upgraded to a town. Located in the central-southern part of the county, it is 30 kilometers from the county seat. The town covers an area of 388 square kilometers and has a population of 20,000. The town government is seated in Jushi.
