Hecuo Temple is located in Mapu Village, Pengkou Town, Liancheng County. Built during the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1436–1449), it has undergone several renovations. The temple faces southeast and is situated to the northwest, consisting of a gate tower, front hall, main hall, and other structures, spanning 18 meters in width and 26 meters in depth. The main hall is three bays wide and five bays deep, featuring a post-and-lintel and through-tenon style roof framework. The four central columns in the main bay hold a caisson ceiling, with bracket sets converging inward — the first layer is square, the second octagonal, and the third spiral-shaped. The four central columns also support a hip-and-gable roof that rises higher than the double-sloped roofs of the main bay’s front and rear sections as well as the side and end bays.
