The former site of the CPC Zhangpu County Committee Headquarters is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the CPC Zhangpu County Committee Headquarters is located in Anzai Natural Village, Houkang Village, Maping Town, Zhangpu County, dating back to 1928.

Introduction: The site was originally the overseas Chinese-funded Maping Yucai Primary School, built with earthen structures, covering a construction area of 616 square meters, consisting of a front hall, a courtyard corridor, a main hall, and left and right wing rooms. In 1917, overseas Chinese Chen Zhaoxin expanded the Shanzaitou Ancestral Hall and set up Yucai Primary School. In 1927, a group of communists used teaching positions as cover here to spread revolutionary ideas, develop peasant association organizations, establish rural party branches, and lead peasants in struggles against excessive taxes and levies. In 1928, a special envoy from the CPC Central Committee came to Maping, convened the CPC Zhangpu County Congress, and officially established the CPC Zhangpu County Committee.

In 2018, the former site of the CPC Zhangpu County Committee Headquarters was announced by the People's Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units.

Protected Area: An extension of 50 meters outward from all sides of the building.

Houkang Village: Houkang Village is located in a hilly area, with most of its sloped land developed into orchards planted with lychee, longan, and other fruit trees, which have begun to yield results, with an annual output of 200 tons. The village has a total of 3,211 mu of arable land, including 1,225 mu of paddy fields and 1,986 mu of dry land, mainly cultivating rice, peanuts, green beans, sugarcane, bananas, etc., with an annual output of about 500 tons. Villagers own five hand tractors, two farm trucks, three handcarts, one taxi, and are engaged in various types of transport. There are 10 people engaged in business outside the village and over 200 migrant workers.
