Former Site of the Command Headquarters of the Minnan Red Army Guerrilla Unit

The former site of the command headquarters of the Minnan Red Army Guerrilla Unit is located in Xiaoshancheng Village, Shiliu Town, Zhangpu County.

In the winter of 1930, Tao Zhu was appointed Secretary of the CPC Minnan Special Committee. He formed the Minnan Guerrilla Unit to carry out armed struggle. On August 9, 1931, Tao Zhu held a meeting in Xiaoshancheng Village, where he announced the establishment of the “Command Headquarters of the Minnan Red Army Guerrilla Unit” and laid out a series of strategies and policies for armed struggle. On October 20, responding to the demands of the people of Shancheng, the Minnan Red Army Guerrilla Unit suppressed the local tyrants and corrupt tax collectors Wu Buding and Wu Damu. These two individuals had secretly increased and embezzled taxes that were forcibly levied on the people of Shancheng by Zhang Zhen, which made them deeply hated by the locals. The suppression of these two villains was met with widespread public approval and eliminated a major obstacle to the guerrilla unit's activities in the area. Subsequently, the guerrilla unit organized a secret farmers' association in Shancheng, helping the Communist Party and the Red Army guerrillas expand their influence among the local populace.

Shiliu Town: Shiliu Town is located in the western part of Zhangpu County. It borders Suian Town, Shigu Farm, and Gehou Village of Changqiao Town to the east; Pantu Town and the Kengnei Work Area of Dankan Farm to the south; Nanpu Township and Zhongxi Forest Farm to the north; and is separated from Nansheng Town and Wuzhai Township of Pinghe County by the Shiping Mountain Range and Liangshan Mountain Range to the west. The town covers a total area of 198 square kilometers. The town government is located in Shiliu Village, which is 10 kilometers from the county seat.
