Qianting Gulei Bay Scenic Tourism Area

The Fujian Zhangpu Qianting Gulei Coastal Scenic Tourism Area is located on the Caiyu Archipelago to the east of the Gulei Peninsula in Zhangpu County. It consists of twenty-three islands of varying sizes, including Shazhou, Hongyu, Jing’an, Baliu Island, Caiyu, and Hengyu, stretching from west to east. With vast seas and skies, rugged cliffs, and a distant view resembling the Penglai fairy mountains floating above the clouds.

The islands were formed through intense geological movements in Earth’s history. Exposed granite bodies have been gradually carved and separated by sea waves and windblown sand into various-sized granite boulders, creating a landscape of uniquely shaped and bizarre granite landforms. Highlights include the massive wind-rock formations represented by the Hongyu Giant Wind-Rock, the world-rare wave-rock, vividly shaped Shark Stone and Gate of Life, as well as Fishing Net Rock, along with deep caves, abundant pebbles, steep cliffs, and five high-quality sandy beaches. These features offer exceptional scenic value and great tourism development potential, attracting large numbers of visitors for sightseeing.
